  20. If your modem doesn't have the new firmware and you can take it
  21. back, do so. Let the retailer wait 6-8 months for the upgrade, and
  22. buy from someone who is not selling off old stock.

  24. Be sure you really have the old version, though, before you
  25. complain. USR is shipping upgrades with 6-7 months old firmware (see
  26. other posts), so just because what you have is old doesn't mean that
  27. they will ship you anything newer.

  29. If you didn't get it in writing that USR would upgrade for free, be
  30. prepared to pay and wait. CUrrent delays posted on the net are
  31. running about 4 months.
